Department of Nutrition

Department of Nutrition of Triveni Devi Bhalotia College, Raniganj established in 2016. The mission of the department is to help, prepare outstanding competent students in both skills and field-based applications so that they can achieve and excel in the profession of education through the art of teaching and learning by application of teaching aids and the effective uses of technology, and the analyse different facts and phenomena and develop the leadership. The department provides one laboratory and one classroom and hopes to extend the facilities in future. Every year, students and faculty of the department participate in different extracurricular activities like Participation in science exhibitions, Patient education program, Participation in College sports, Short and long Industrial visits, Workshop on patient diet awareness, and Participation in cultural programs etc. The students have an array of opportunities to pursue different careers in academics and engage themselves as dietician in hospitals and Nutritionists in health clinics, health centers, and MNCs. They also have an opportunity to be engaged as a registered dietician (RD). Graduates can also work as a project assistant, project associate, and chief nutritionist in NGO's and private organizations. Besides, the students can go for higher studies and engage themselves in high quality research. There are many career opportunities for nutrition. This is because of increasing recognition of the critical role that nutrition plays in the prevention and treatment of disease.  Nutrition professionals work in hospitals, schools, and worksite wellness programs, leading the way to greater understanding of how the right foods and nutrition can improve our lives and our health.
