ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Attributes
Trivenidevi Bhalotia College commenced its journey in 1957 as a UGC registered College [under 2(f) and (12b)], affiliated under the University of Calcutta. It became affiliated to the University of Burdwan in 1960. Presently the College has come under the aegis of Kazi Nazrul University on and from 24th June, 2015. The College is a co-educational institution which is run in two sections – Morning section and Day section.
College Building
Over the years the college has consolidated its position as a premier institution in the state of West Bengal imparting higher education in diverse areas of Humanities, Commerce and Basic Sciences. Emerging subjects in the field of Applied Sciences such as Computer Science, Electronic Science, Biochemistry, Psychology, Food and Nutrition are given due emphasis. Several Postgraduation courses have been introduced that explore the horizon of knowledge among students. Such specialization will equip the students to pursue research, better job opportunities as well as entrepreneurships. The college has also finalized blueprints of some more career-related courses which are to be initiated shortly.

The academic vision of the college is to provide sustainable education that will inspire the students to aspire to greater heights of achievement in every professional field. The college as part of Kazi Nazrul University adheres to the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) which encourages young learners to broaden their spectrum and add a multiplicity to their knowledge bank. Students are encouraged to participate in Social Outreach programmes such as NSS which widens their ecological awareness and the need for social-work; Jiyonkathi is also one such extension of social outreach that aids the teaching-learning process among primary school children who are economically backward.

Teaching Versatility
Trivenidevi Bhalotia College offers UG courses under three streams: Humanities, Science and Commerce. It also offers PG courses in three streams: Humanities, Science and Commerce. Besides it provides training in NSS and NCC. At present there are 28 Under- graduate and 8 Postgraduate courses.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction is mainly English and Bengali. Students are free to opt for courses in other vernacular languages, such as Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu.
Shifts of Courses
Trivenidevi Bhalotia College has two shifts:
❶ Morning Session (7:00 IST - 12:00 IST) for B.Com., Finance, Taxation & BBA.
❷ Day Session (9:00 IST - 17:00 IST) for B.A., B.Sc., several PG courses & Ph.D. courses.
