Career & Counseling Cell
 
Mission and Vision:
The purpose of the Career & Counselling Cell of the Trivenidevi Bhalotia College, Raniganj is to support the UG & PG students of the college in developing their overall personalities and achieving their dream careers by providing Career Guidance, Career Counselling, Career/Degree/Course information and other related services. Its mission is to guide students coming from different socio-economic backgrounds to access and utilize placement opportunities through appropriate institutional support and information. The target of this Cell is to boost the confidence of the students to perform better in their academic and career arenas. Cell strives to help the students with appropriate guidance to establish links with the job world and locate career opportunities. The Career & Counselling Cell is on a noble mission to create a vision in the students’ minds about their careers through identifying their skills, strengths and interests; to orient the students towards their goals through counselling sessions, lectures, seminars, etc. on higher studies, research-oriented opportunities and jobs in private and public sectors.

Activities of the Cell during the Last Five Years (July 2016-December 2021): 
Series of Seminars on “Career Opportunities and Planning” for different subjects by the respective subject experts: The Career & Counseling Cell organized multiple Seminars on “Career Opportunities and Planning” for different subjects to help different streams of students in choosing their future path of career by providing appropriate guidance and information about several possible future job opportunities.  The details of these seminars are as follows:

SEMINAR FOR CA ASPIRANTS:
T.D.B. College Career and Counselling Cell organized a seminar on "How to be a Cost & Management Accounts" in collaboration with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Durgapur on 11th Nov 2016 in Smart Classroom from 11 am. A total of 53 students participated in this programme.  The experts from Cost & Management Accounts (CMAs) were the resource persons on the programme. Students gained much enlightenment in their career choice from this programme. 
 
SEMINAR FOR CIVIL SERVICES ASPIRANTS:
On 28th Sept 2018 T.D.B. College Career and Counselling Cell organized a seminar on "How to prepare for IAS/IPS/IFS exam" in collaboration with Ambition Civil Service Academy in Room No. 15 from 12.30 pm. 180 students in total participated in this programme. The experts of Ambition Civil Service Academy, Delhi, were the resource persons on the programme. It was an absorbing and very interactive programme which satisfied many queries of the students. 
 
SEMINAR     FOR     VARIOUS     ENTRANCE     AND     COMPETITIVE     EXAMINATION ASPIRANTS:
TDBCCCC jointly organized a seminar-cum-career counselling for the aspirants of CAT, CLAT, BANK-PO, SSC, BBA, IPM, CA-CS etc. with Career Launcher Asansol, on 18th Jan 2019. An amazing number of 152 students from different departments of the college participated in the programme. There were three resource persons who provided valuable lectures and guidance to the students. Students gained the much-needed necessary information from this programme. 
 
CAMPUS DRIVE BY RELIANCE JIO:
A campus drive by "Reliance Jio" was conducted with the assistance of CCC in the college premises on 25.02.2019 from 10 am to 6 pm. The selection process was a three-tier process (online test, interview and certification programme). They selected 12 students for the last round certification program on the basis of the first two round tests (online test and interview). The final certification program for selected candidates was held at JIO CENTRE in Asansol.
 
SEMINAR ON CAREER COUNSELLING:
T.D.B. College Career and Counselling Cell and Future Coaching collaboratively organized a career counselling seminar on 28th May 2019 in Room No. 15 from12.30 pm. A great number of 177 students from different departments participated in this programme. Two experts in Future Coaching played the role of resource persons in the programme. 
 
CAMPUS DRIVE BY RELIANCE JIO:
Another campus drive by "Reliance Jio" was conducted with the assistance of CCC on the college premises on 13.06.2019 from 10 am to 6 pm. The selection process was a three-tier process (online test, interview and certification programme). This drive was organized for the outgoing batch of 6th-semester students. A total of 23 students from different departments participated in this programme.
 
MOU SIGN WITH RICE, DURGAPUR: The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)  signing ceremony between Trivenidevi Bhalotia College, Raniganj, Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal -713347, India, affiliated under Kazi Nazrul University, West Bengal, and M/s. Roy's Institute of Competitive Examination Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter RICE Education), having its registered office at "Dishari Bhawan" 11/1 B.T. Road, Belghoria, Kolkata, West Bengal, Pin -700056 was held on April 08, 2022 at the TDB College Campus. Both the institutions Undertake to Promote and Develop Cooperation with each other on various activities in view of Employability program for the College students. MoU Signing Ceremony was completed under the supervision of Dr. Asish Kr. Dey,  Principal, TDB College, Raniganj, Mr.  Arunabha Bandyapadhyay, IQAC Coordinator TDB College, Mr. Subinoy Chandra & Mr. Arnab Chattaraj, Senior Academic Consultant, RICE Education, Durgapur,  and   Dr. Prakash Kumar Das, Convener, Career & Counselling Cell, TDB College.

A LECTURE ON REMOTE SENSING & GIS:  The Department of Geography, in collaboration with the Career Counselling Cell, TDB College, conducted a guest lecture on "Remote Sensing & GIS" on the 21st of July 2022 in offline and online mode. A total of 65 participants in physically and 75 through Google meet attended the program. The programme started with an address to the gathering by Dr. D. Orawn, Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography. Later, the guest speaker was welcomed with a token of flowers, followed by the well-come address of Dr. P.K.Das, convenor of the career counselling cell. The resource person-Dr. Lokesh Kumar Tripathi, Assistant Professor, Head of the department of Geo-informatics, Sangam University, Bhilwara, Rajasthan, gave a power point presentation on the topic of Remote Sensing & GIS, introducing the basics of the subject, course requirements, its applications, and job opportunities. Dr Tripathi made the session very interesting by interlinking applications of the topic in our day-to-day lives and how ISRO is conducting its research and development on utilising Remote Sensing and GIS. He walked the students through a series of animated slides that helped them to identify and correlate the concepts of several geostationary satellites and their applications. The session was very interactive and ended with a quiz for students. Dr. Tripathi gifted two t-shirts to 2 students who gave correct answers to the questions on the quiz. Dr. Asish Kr. Dey, the Principal of TDB College, awarded a shawl to Dr. Tripathi to honour him and gave a vote of thanks at the end of the lecture.

TRAINING OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC SURVEY: A socio-economic survey training for interested students has been conducted by Stesalit Systems Limited in collaboration with the Career Counseling Cell at TDB College on 16.8.22 at the Seminar Room. The survey's goal is to learn about the socioeconomic conditions of the people in Asansol, Kulti, Raniganj, and Jamuria. Based on the survey data, Stesalit Systems Limited, Kolkata, is going to prepare a master plan for Asansol Municipal Corporation. The socio-economic survey needs to be finished by August 2022 as per the guidelines from AMRUT cell and SUDA.

To complete the above survey, they requested our college authorities to provide a few of our college student volunteers from Asansol, Kulti, Raniganj, and Jamuria. The training has been given by Mr. Sambaran Gosh, Transport Planner, Stesalit Systems Limited, Kolkata. A total of 44 students and 4 teachers (including Principal Dr. Asish Kr. Dey) participated in that training. The Stesalit Systems will provide an internship certificate and a gift amount of Rs. 15/-for each surveyed form to the student volunteers. The survey will give each volunteer hands-on experience gathering data from real-world fields and understanding how the information gathered can help our society grow.

Future Work Plan of the Cell: 
1. To create awareness among students about job opportunities in various sectors like Government and Private sectors and keep students updated with available information about jobs /positions/opportunities through various platforms. 
2. To inform students about the skill sets required to get government and private organization jobs through organizing lectures/seminars on interview skills, personality development, communication skills, leadership skills, resume writing, analytical skills, quantitative ability, verbal and reasoning skills, etc. essential to all competitive exams.
3. To organize career guidance and motivational programmes periodically to help students identify their skills, strengths and interests. 
4. To arrange coaching/training for competitive exams and make them aware of the importance of higher studies in India and Abroad. 
5. To arrange talks on career development by subject experts.
