The Psychology department of TDB College established in 2016. The department got its first batch completed three-year under graduate course in 2019. The department is the first under graduate department in West Bengal to run a syllabus based on CBCS system. Within a year, the department organised a one-day state level workshop on “Stress Management” on 10th November, 2016 supported by college fund and encouragement again the same program arranged in 26th April of 2018. From first batch of 9 students who completed under graduate course successfully 7 of them passed out post-graduation in applied psychology from Kazi Nazrul University. Many of the students looking for the engagement in government and private sector, in hospitals, in developmental sectors like NGO, in schools as consultant clinical psychologist, rehabilitation psychologist, industrial psychologist, as counsellor as art therapist, music and dance therapist, speech therapist, graphologist with the area specific specialization.
