The department started its journey in 1985 offering only General course in Electronics. Later, Honours course was also introduced in 1999 keeping in mind the importance of the subject in present era. This department includes three essential laboratories like Basic electronics lab, One computer lab, and Separate dark room for optics related experiments for better learning process. After completion of B.Sc. Honours in Electronics, students are encouraged to pursue higher studies like M.Sc., M. Tech. /PhD which broaden the job opportunities in academic as lecturer or, as scientist/engineer/officer in reputed R&D institute and government services.
