The History department of TDB College established in 1957. The Department is well-equipped with many books to teach the various papers in Ancient, Medieval and Modern History in Honours and Programme Courses both. It also focuses in engaging the students with modern domains of emerging historical trends as well as acquainting them with several skill enhancement courses. It encourages the students to follow multiple co-curricular activities and cultural programmes throughout the year. The students of the Department actively participate in College Socials and stall exhibitions. They organize Freshers’ Welcome for first year students, Teachers’ Day and Farewell for the final year students. They prepare wall magazines at regular intervals on several topics. Apart from pursuing higher studies and research in academics, the students opt for competitive jobs in government and non-government sector. They have excellent opportunities in interdisciplinary fields like archaeology, museology, Art History etc. They can find their niche in media studies and Human Resource oriented jobs.
